Research reports show: 1. Air pollution does not negate the health benefits of cycling and walking unless you’re cycling more than 5 hours daily in some of the world’s worst polluted cities. 2. Even small increases in walking and cycling would have the biggest impact on public health  among population groups who do the least walking and cycling. 3. Adults who maintain cycle commuting to work over 1 year report a lower Body Mass Index than those who never cycle to work.

Interesting and useful facts, but what can one do with it? Participate in the WHO-ECF HEAT webinar and find it out: hear about the value of the cycling happening in your city or country, then check out the one hour webinar that ECF and World Health Organisation have coming up on Wednesday, November 23 on HEAT for Cycling. The seminar will help you to understand how to use the HEAT tool, and how to use HEAT results for the promotion of cycling.

More about the health benefits of cycling and interesting fact and figures can be found at the ECF website.
