Availability of additional data

Definition
The percentage of additional data is an indicator of the completeness of OSM tags. The numerator represents the average amount of information on cycling infrastructure available for that area, taking into account surface, smoothness and width tags. The cycling infrastructure considered for this statistics includes cycle tracks, cycle and pedestrian tracks, cycle lanes and limited access roads, because these are the types of infrastructure where the parameters are most likely to affect usability.

We provide statistics on different types of surfaces in the previous section but for the moment we only monitor the completeness of smoothness and width data. The coverage of these two tags is not yet wide enough to calculate meaningful statistics.

The map presents the shared amount of additional data from OSM. Areas are coloured in line with the average share of these tags in all cycle infrastructure in the area, and by hovering the cursor over a specific area you can find out the detailed statistics.
