It’s with a heavy heart that ECF says goodbye to one of its most talented staff members, Dr. Florinda Boschetti.

“I wanted to say that it's been a great inspiration for me to be part of ECF's growing team that shared my common vision for a more cycle-friendly society. PRESTO has been the perfect cycling project for me as a project manager to kick-off and participate hands-on in an EU wide competence building project on cycling policies,” reflected Boschetti.

"We are on the edge of a cultural shift, it takes time and we won't get everyone on a bike. But with hard work and patience we certainly will make a difference!"

Boschetti has worked as a project manager for 3 years on the EU Funded Presto Project, which created tools for technicians and politicians to create cycle friendly urban environments. She was also the coordinator of the Scientists for Cycling (S4C) network.

Boschetti is a cycling enthusiast both on a personal and professional level. She has a PHD in slow mobility and city planning and even spent 6 months as a bicycle messenger during her student days in Milan, Italy. 

“We’re very sad to see her go but we know that she’ll spread the message of cycling wherever she works,” said Bernhard Ensink, ECF Secretary General.

Boschetti will now be working for POLIS, a network of European cities and regions working together to develop innovative technologies and policies for local transport. She commences work there today.
