“Intermodality” Plenary

Day three of Velo-city 2018 will begin with a stimulating discussion about “Intermodality”.
In a nutshell, the main theme of the plenary will focus on the power of the bicycle in an intermodal metropolitan area. During the plenary, the contrast between EU National and regional case with South-American Development will be explored.
The speakers for the “Intermodality” plenary are:
- Viviana Tobón, professor of transport law post-graduate program at Universidad Externado de Colombia for urban sustainable mobility’s and public transportation system’s subjects, and she serves as mobility’s vice-director of Aburrá Valley Metropolitan Area, which is the promoter and executor organization of active mobility policies and strategies for Medellin and its Metropolitan Area.
- Pascal Smet, minister of Mobility and Public Works of Brussels, Member of the VGC, responsible for Culture, Youth, Sport and City Policy and Member of COCOM, in charge of the Policy of Aid to People, Family Benefits and Movie Control.
- Lake Sagaris, internationally recognized expert on civil society, gender and cycle-inclusive urban planning, as they relate to urban-regional governance.
The “Intermodality” plenary is scheduled for Day 3 of Velo-city 2018; Tuesday 14th June 2018 at 09.00-10.00.
