Transporte Ativo (TA), the local Velo-city Programme Team in Rio de Janeiro, has sought financial support from Banco Itaú to enable organizations from developing countries (listed by the World Bank) to participate in Velo-city 2018 in Rio de Janeiro.

‘It is very important that as many people as possible can acquire and disseminate knowledge about how to promote the use of the bicycle in their cities’ writes TA.

Transporte Ativo will help 26 people with financial support to attend the conference. There will be 6 complete packages including conference registration, airfare and lodging, 3 packages for Brazilians and 3 packages for developing countries. There will be 20 more for registrations, being 10 for Brazilians, 5 for Latin Americans and 5 for developing countries.

A jury will select the best proposals for funding based primarily on your plan to disseminate your Velo-city experience in your country / city of origin and on the motivations to participate in the conference.
Application forms must be completed by Monday, April 30, 2017. Jury’s decision will be sent to candidates by May 7, 2018. There’s only a few days to sign up!
