Planning and Promotion of Bicycles in Denmark - Study Trip June 18-20, 2018
The ECF's Danish member Foreningen Frie Fugle is organizing an exiciting event for all those involved in the planning of cycle facilities on June 18-20, 2018 in Denmark.
About the event
The study trip will deal with planning of cycle facilities in small and medium sized cities as well as regional connections. There will be a focus on political aspects: how to come from vision to reality. The study trip will include lectures on Odense (200.000 inhabitants) and Hillerød (50.000 inhabitants) as well as several bike excursions in and outside Copenhagen with several opportunities for formal and informal discussions.
The event will kick-off with a bike excursion in central Copenhagen, passing Dronning Louises Bro (Europe’s busiest bicycle street) and other high-level bicycle facilities, ending at ECF's Member Cyklistforbundet (Danish Cyclists’ Federation). The lecture from Klaus Bondam, director of Cyklistforbundet (Danish Cyclists' Federation) will follow with the focus on how to campaign for cycling in a bicycle friendly environment. Other exciting exursions and lectures will follow in the coming days, thus providing a great balance between formal and informal discussion and trips around Denmark to see the cycling infrastructure and Danish mobility solutions first-hand.
