The Danish Cyclists’ Federation is organizing another Bikeable City Masterclass in collaboration with several other members of the Cycling Embassy of Denmark on May 14-18, 2018. The masterclass targets urban planners, NGO’s and decision makers in cities from all over the world.

There is hardly a better place to get insights about cycling infrastructure and city planning than Copenhagen. The 2017 Annual Bicycle Report confirms that cycling is still the preferred mode of transport for the inhabitants of Copenhagen, with a total of 1.4 million km cycled in the city on an average weekday, which is an increase of 22% since 2006. In the same period, cyclists’ feeling of safety has increased by 43% while the relative risk of having a serious bicycle accident has been reduced by 23%. The masterclass program includes topics such as:

• Introduction to city development and Danish cycling planning
• The political process 
• Bicycle Strategy and Bicycle Account as tools for cycle promotion
• Cycle infrastructure design
• Traffic safety for cyclists, accidents and systematic accident reduction
