B-Track-B at Bike Festival 2014 in Slovenia
B-Track-B will present and demonstrate its approach to the promotion of leisure cycling at the Bike Festival 2014 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from May 23-25.
B-Track-B will use the ICT bike tracking and communication tools developed and tested within the project. Representatives of municipalities and cycling advocacy groups are invited to join the seminar ‘More Cycling in Slovenian Cities: Challenges and Opportunities’, in the Town Hall on May 23rd. The festival will take place in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It will start with the seminar and be followed by a guided tour of the city’s bicycle infrastructure. Other public activities during that day are: an exposition of bicycle literature in town's library and two bike movies at the cinema.
On May 24th there are even more public activities planned. In the morning cyclists will occupy the main city's square (Kongresni trg) where activities will include: presentations and testing of various bicycles, bike workshops, and an award ceremony comprising a Bike-Track-Bike prize drawing.
In the afternoon a Bike Diversity & Pride Parade will bring together cyclists of all age groups on all kinds of bicycles to cycle from Congress Square to BTC Shopping Mall. Here the festival programme will continue. On May 25th two cycling tours will be organized:

- a 35 km guided cycling tour across Ljubljana's Marshes Regional Park that will end at the Technical Museum of Slovenia in Castle Bistra. Their exhibition includes a large exposition of historical bicycles.
- Ljubljana Cyclists Network will organise guided sightseeing of the architectural heritage of Ljubljana by bike.
In the evening the festival will close at the city cinema Kinodvor with the movie ‘Green Bicycle’ and in the Urban Culture Centre KinoŠiška where participants can view documentaries and promotional movies on cycling in cities.
