So you’re not cycle chic enough?  Don’t stress! You can always make your bicycle sexy. A group in Brussels, Belgium has matched designers with bike mechanics to create truly beautiful machines.

Ever heard of a customised bicycle parade? A group known as "Mad Bike Bike Customisation" are organizing a parade of  hotted up bicycles which will later go on auction as part of European Mobility Week.

“We really want to show people in Brussels that bicycles are a really modern form of transport,” says Elise Peroi, a textile design student in Brussels who herself has customized a bicycle, alongside 19 other participants.

“I was teamed up with a bicycle mechanic and for over two months and we worked on making our bicycle, doing our best to make it really sexy.”

"We've worked with Unik bicycles to cover the bikes in leather," explained a company spokesperson to Belgian television.

What a great idea! Who said that cars enthusiasts should be the only ones to parade around with their shiny vehicles. It's time for cyclists to be just as proud about their two-wheeled companions.
