A FLOW Webinar  on “Putting it all together: The policy context of applying the FLOW tools”, will take place on 08.11.2017,14:00-15:30.  Following the webinar an online course will be held between 13.11 and 08.12.2017.

In this  FLOW webinar, we will explore the policy context of applying the FLOW tools, including politically effective facts and messages for implementing walking and cycling measures in cities, lessons learned from the FLOW cities' experience applying the FLOW tools and a discussion on transferability. Decision makers, transport planners in local authorities and other multipliers are invited to join the webinar.

The course will begin with an overview of FLOW, an introduction to this course and to the full eLearning and webinar series, course aims and the target audience. It then brings together the technical aspects of the project and puts them into a policy context.

FLOW Partner and Exchange Cities will describe the development of the implementation scenarios for their FLOW walking and/or cycling measures and – with the aid of the Implementers’ Guide for congestion reducing walking and cycling measures – will discuss with course participants which aspects of these could be transferable to their context and how this could best be done.

The European Cyclists’ Federation and Walk21 will describe the political context of congestion in Europe and the views of decision makers (based on the FLOW trend analysis of decision makers’ views on congestion). The FLOW Congestion Quick Facts for Decision Makers will be presented as a tool to support those who wish to implement walking and cycling measures in their cities but who face congestion-related opposition to doing so. Participants will compare their local situation with those of other participants and discuss which facts and messages have proven most effective.

Target group: Decision makers, transport planners in local authorities, other multipliers
Webinar: 08.11.2017,14:00-15:30 CET

This e-course will provide more in-depth information on the technical aspects of the project and put them into a policy context.
