The MOVE Congress 2013 in Barcelona came to seal an amazingly successful MOVE Week by focusing on three pillars: innovative delivery, effective collaboration and a clear understanding of their community. Nine MOVE Agents won a trip to participate in the MOVE Congress in order to share their experiences and exchange good practice and tips for success. An ECF member was one of them; proving the importance of cycling in the mission of activating grassroots and inspiring people to get off their couch and into a healthier way of living.

With approximately 300 events involving cycling as a means of spreading the message of physical activity, the selection of a nominees was not an easy task. The event shows the positive effects of cross-sector collaboration of 26 different groups in the fight against cancer. And this is just the beginning!

NowWeMove United Against Cancer

Now We Move.. Against Cancer brought together social groups from various sectors for the organization of an event:Health, Sports, Diet, Dance, Youth, Disabilities,  Discrimination, Sustainable Mobility, Activism etc. The relay included different types of active transport from cycling to walking, skating and even dancing and started with a low pace run, connecting various social groups standpoints scattered around the city. Each social group was sending their own message against cancer. At the same time Skate rollers were leading  a bicycle ride from a different route.  All together passed  through city port where people with disabilities joined  the last part of the race to White Tower City Landmark. There was a key health message as part of the event and  all the participants were informed about the European Code against Cancer and the benefits of everyday physical activity and for the activities of the social groups taking part. Parallel events with music, dance, yoga, stories narration, kids games etc took place making us all move together!
