On Monday 20th November and Tuesday 21st in Brussels, PEBSS (Platform for European Bicycle Sharing & Systems) is holding its Cities + Smart Bike Share Workshop, specifically designed around implementing PEBSS’ Policy Recommendations for Smarter Bike Share, incorporating all forms of bike share, including of course dockless solutions and all variations.

The bike share (r)evolution is coming to more and more cities all over Europe (and the world). Technological innovations have simultaneously progressed; we now have e-bike share systems, app-based, dock-free systems, and those hybrid.  All this also allows us to collect data to even better understand how the city moves. With such a plethora of approaches and options for implementing public-use bike share, cities should benefit from each other’s experience and need guidance to frame the conversation with bike share operators, and by extension, avoid politically and economically costly decisions.

Typical workshop participants will be professionals from city mobility departments, bike share units, PTAs  and / or PTOs, and public officials keen to shape a better, smarter bike share eco-system for their cities and metropolitan regions.  Workshop is limited to the first 100 individuals, to make for manageable, personal discussions and important bench-marking exchanges.  No standing room.  So book your seat / table now.

The workshop leads with an expert review of the PEBSS framework, and practical implementation sessions to build on the learning of our networks and partners.  This is NOT a conference; it is a practical working day for experts in the sector to collaborate and find solutions together.  A “must-not-miss” opportunity for practitioners, commissioners, and policy makers working in any area of bike sharing, rental, and urban mobility.

Organised by PEBSS (Platform for European Bicycle Sharing & Systems), an initiative delivered by the ECF (European Cyclists’ Federation); staged at Residence Palace’s International Press Centre, only steps from the European Commission.
