Cities & Regions for Cyclists come to Velo-city Dublin
On Wednesday 26 June at 10:30 for the first time ever, the Cities & Regions for Cyclists network will have its own exclusive session at Velo-city Dublin. Don't miss this opportunity to mingle with city officials from all over Europe (and a few from outside) and to learn about the work we do with them.
Velo-city conferences are the best events you can attend if you are interested in cycling in urban spaces (and beyond). They attract experts of all kinds by the thousands - urban planners, behaviour change and road safety campaigners, advocates, physical activity researchers, economists, public transport operators, shared mobility providers, think-tankers, smart city visionaries, start-up accelerators. And of course politicians and public administrators at all levels of governance, from the European Commission to the city level.
This year, we will shed even more light onto cities and regions, the place where meaningful change really takes place, with a full session dedicated to the work ECF has been doing with the members of our Cities & Regions for Cyclists. CRC is the network of some of the world’s most ambitious cycling cities and regions, gathering to put cycling at the centre of urban planning and political thinking and hopefully inspire more cities to take concrete action in promoting sustainable mobility and liveable urban spaces.
We will talk about the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the role bicycles play in improving social inclusion; about funding for climate-resilient infrastructure and quick fixes for the mobility low-hanging fruits; about shared two-wheelers and the integration of active mobility into MaaS applications; about visionary political leadership and coalition building to make sure cycling receives long-term support from civil society and decision-makers.
Stay tuned for more updates on the speakers of the session and don’t hesitate to contact n.panozzo@ecf.com if you wish to join the network as well.
