taipei-cycle 2015

Countdown has begun for Taipei and we are ready to announce the CIC activities agenda. We look forward to meet old and new members of the Cycling Industry Club and prepare the ground for Velo-city Global cycling conference in 2016!

As part of the European bicycle industry ECF/CIC is delighted to support the CONEBI Press Conference at 16.00 on Wednesday 18th March. The press conference will be followed by a networking event at the CONEBI booth, where we will be letting everyone know about our great plans for 2015 and 2016, introducing the CIC Advisory Board members and helping you find out how the combined work of industry and advocacy can grow the market for everyone.

ECF Director of Development, Kevin Mayne, will be joining a top group of speakers at the International Bicycle Trend Forum. Chaired by CIC Member Tony Lo of Giant and Taiwan Bicycle Association this session will include Taiwan’s Vice-Minister of Economic Affairs and the Chief Secretary of Department of Transportation, Taipei City Government.

Asian Cycling Forum: Industry and policy in action

Taiwan is well known as one of the leading manufacturing bases for the bicycle industry. This year, policy gets in the mix. On 19th and 20th March the City of Taipei brings together all aspects of cycling in the Asian Cycling Forum, paving the way for Velo-city Global 2016.

We are delighted to be delivering two industry perspectives that link the expertise of the bicycle industry and the needs of city policy makers.

On Thursday 19th March we will talk about the development of public bike share schemes, the role of new technologies in bike share and the way bike share breaks new cycling markets. On Friday 20th the subject switches to e-bikes with the presentation "Electromobility – what policy makers and funders need".
