Ljubljana, April 22.  The B-track-B campaign “One can get far on bicycle!” started on Earth Day in Slovenia's capital with a bike ride from the Office of the President of the Republic of Slovenia to the city zoo.

Under the honorary auspice of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr. Borut Pahor, this year's campaign is set to motivate pupils aged 9 – 14 and their families to cycle for leisure in the city in order to gain B-track-B awards. Additionally the campaign aims to support the young nurse Mrs. Katarina Šabić who in September 2013 started a cycling tour across Africa in an effort to raise funds for the construction of a nursery at Akamasoa mission in Madagascar, led by Slovene missionary Pedro Opeka.

President Mr. Borut Pahor welcomed the campaign as an example of best practices for the city to contribute to a social and environmentally sustainable planet. By changing mobility habits and contributing to better health of individuals, families, cities, and the globe, one can get far on a bicycle! It is expected that above 500 youths and their family members will join the campaign that will culminate with the Bicycle Festival Ljubljana 2014 on May 23 -25 and will finish with the Bike Day of Ljubljana Schools on September 22, a car-free day.
