Andalucia, a member of the "Cities for Cyclists" network, has launched a renewed mobility plan for the employees of the Regions’s ‘Obras Públicas´ Agency. This plan will double the benefits for employees who walk, cycle or take public transport to come to work. Employees in all cities in Andalucia where the Agency has offices (Sevilla, Malaga, Granada) can enjoy these benefits:

  • a reduction of work time (7minutes per day = 3 days a year)
  • participation in of public transport fee
  • subsidy to buy bicycles
  • several other discounts and services: for example bicycle maintenance or possibility to participate in the Ciclogreen digital platform (a reward scheme that gives online coaching for active modes and discounts)

Why? Obviously, Andalucia Obras Publicas Agency is leading by example to improve the quality of life for its employees and for the cities in their Region. Moreover, more people walking, cycling or taking public transport is saving the agency a lot of money. Since 2014, when a pilot of this plan was launched, the iniciative has saved the agency 40.000 euro and 35,2 tons of CO2 (you need 3.000 trees to absorb this!). The extension of the plan to all the workers in different locations of the region aims to increase the impact of the initiative.
