ECF and CONEBI presented the Cycling for Growth project during the Advocacy Summit 2015, the peak event for industry and advocacy collaboration at Eurobike.
CIC is supporting ECF to create better places for people to ride. The Cycling for Growth initiative is additional to that work and it brings the companies’ experience and resources to the European level in order to show how the cycling industry will deliver growth in Europe.
Said Raymond Gense, PON Director of Future Technology & Public Affairs.
The Cycling for Growth initiative will complement the work of CIC and CONEBI by adding the voice of the companies at the EU level and show the EU that we have a powerful success story that needs to be shared. The goal is to convince EU and national governments to i) invest in cycling and e-cycling, ii) invest in industrialisation clusters (research, technologies, SME support) and iii) collaborate better on data and market intelligence.

New Project Director Nicolas Urien has been appointed to lead the Cycling for Growth initiative on behalf of CONEBI and ECF (contact info: n.urien@ecf.com). The Advocacy Summit was attended by top industry players and Michael Cramer, German MEP (Greens) who chairs the TRAN Committee of the European Parliament.
