EuroVelo 5: Connecting Europe by bike for a greener future

Date:

23 Mar, 2022 15:00 - 16:00

On Wednesday 23 March, EuroVelo 5 – Via Romea (Francigena) will be officially inaugurated in Brussels. Another milestone towards greener mobility in Europe, the cycle route connects seven countries from the United Kingdom to Italy, allowing travellers to discover Europe by the greenest means of transport: the bicycle. Traversing the heart of Brussels, the route also benefits everyday cyclists in the European capital.

To celebrate this green cycling connection in Europe, the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF), the Brussels-Capital Region, the European Commission and Pro Velo (the National EuroVelo Coordination Centre) are inviting you for the official unveiling of a new EuroVelo 5 sign at the entrance to Parc du Cinquantenaire (Jubelpark) in Brussels.

Speaking at the event will be:

Location: Parc du Cinquantenaire, at the entrance on the side of Schuman Square

Time: 15:00 CET, Wednesday 23 March

Cycle ride: Several attendees, including Van den Brandt, Warren and Bontick, will be cycling to Parc du Cinquantenaire from Arts-Loi. This will be a great photo opportunity. They will gather at 14:30 at the Villo bicycle station next to the Arts-Loi metro, and you are welcome to join. Please remember to bring a bike.
