Velo-city, the annual cycling conference, turns 40!
In celebration of the 40th Velo-city anniversary, we invite you to attend our webcast "Cycling as the new normal" on 17 September 2020. Join us in imagining what a future with cycling as the new normal could look like.
Since Velo-city series took-off in 1980 in Bremen (Germany), it quickly established itself as the premier worldwide annual cycling summit. Every year, it gathers cycling-enthusiasts involved in the policymaking, promotion and provision of active mobility and sustainable urban development stimulating vibrant discussions on how cycling can change the world for the better.
Unfortunately, this year, the COVID-19 pandemic prevented the cycling community from meeting in person in Ljubljana. However, it will not stop us from celebrating the 40th Velo-city anniversary. On 17 September, we will explore how cycling has once again proven itself the most resilient mode of transport in times of crisis. Our webcast will feature a high-level panel discussion with representatives from cities of past and future Velo-city editions. Ambitious cities like Lisbon and Brussels will share their success stories demonstrating how they grasped the opportunity to make cycling the new normal!
