The European Cyclists’ Federation opens the bidding procedure for the 2023 and 2024 host cities of Velo-city, the world’s largest cycling conference.

The European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF) has launched the bidding procedure to find the host cities of two editions of its flagship Velo-city conference: Velo-city 2023 and Velo-city 2024.

The Velo-city conference has established itself as the premier annual cycling summit since its first edition in 1980. The four-day conference serves as a global knowledge exchange and policy transfer platform attracting more than 1,400 high-level participants such as policy makers, cycling advocates, industry representatives and researchers.

Love Your City, Love Cycling

For a city, the benefits of hosting Velo-city are manifold. The conference offers a unique opportunity for the host city to present itself to the global cycling community as a green and active city. Velo-city also boosts the local economy, promotes an active lifestyle, stimulates sustainable urban development and enhances the city’s international prestige.

ECF invites European and non-European cities committed to shaping a greener future through more cycling to bid for Velo-city 2023 or Velo-city 2024. To receive the complete bid documentation, please contact us at velo-city@ecf.com, stating the edition you would like to bid for.
