One of the designs suggested for the Mobile Mobility Hub competitionThe 21st of February had been marked for some time in the calendars of fifteen students from the University of Art and Design Offenbach am Main and Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. On this day they would present their Final Design Presentation of their assignment on the "Mobile Mobility Hub".One of the designs suggested for the Mobile Mobility Hub competition

The Mobile Mobility Hub will be built by the German CHIPS Partner Regionalverband FrankfurtRheinMain in the Frankfurt Airport Region along the cycle highway that will connect the city of Frankfurt with the Airport Business City District. The other project partners have been involved in the selection process of the design.

One of the designs suggested for the Mobile Mobility Hub competitionThe students were given the challenge to design an innovative and user friendly mobile hub that provides space for bike sharing, bike parking and a repair toolbox. The mobile hub should be an attractive resting place for the users of the cycle highway that also provides them with information about the cycle highway. The design should be mobile and easily transportable to other locations. Therefore the students also had to develop a plan for the logistics and transport of the mobile hub. They had 6 months to work on their 3D models and virtual designs before the final presentation at the end of February.

The CHIPS partners that joined the final presentation of the designs were very excited with the attention to detail and creativity put forward by the students in their mobile hub designs. Here are some pictures of our favorite designs. What’s your favorite mobile hub?
