Organization There is a central office in Antwerp and and one in Brussels. The Fietsersbond consists of 43 local sections.
Short Summary The Fietsersbond is campaigning for cyclists in the Dutch-speaking parts of Belgium. We are committed to all cyclists with an emphasis on commuting and utility cyclists. Our members receive a newsletter 4 times a year. The Fietsersbond is campaining for a 'total plan bicycle' that integrates the cycling policies of all levels of the administration. The emphasis is on traffic planning, more financial means for cycling facilities, sensibilisation of the general public and mobility education.
Example activities
The Fietsersbonds' major projects:
- education for children as well as for eployees and elderly people - service such as legal assistance for all members - making the bicycle a topic during election campaigns - promoting cycling to work
