Vélo Québec Association is happy to announce the publication of Bikeroutes, Greenways and Bicycle Touring , a compilation of comments and observations from the International Mobile Forum, which took place in August 2007 as part of the official inauguration of Québec’s Route verte. The six-day event organized by Vélo Québec saw nine experts from seven countries cycle across various sections of the Route verte. Along the way, they met and discussed issues of interest with the local and regional stakeholders who have been the driving force behind this Québec-wide initiative. Every day, these world-renowned specialists shared their unique insight into a number of specific themes, namely long-term viability, the role of cycling in public transportation, the process of selecting cycling destinations, the supply of information to cycle tourists, route-side signage and continuous improvement. Bikeroutes, Greenways and Bicycle Touring summarizes the Route verte experience for visiting cyclists from the perspective of these themes. The report is available in English and French.
