11.02.2008Australia: Should Cyclists Pay Registration Fees?

In NSW the debate rages as to whether riders should pay a nominal registration fee for the right to use road infrastructure. Go to the link below to read the article appearing in today's The Sydney Morning Herad. 737 people voted with 21% voting Yes that should as it will legitimise their place on the roads, while 79% voted No and said things should remain as they are.

Bicycle SA is of the view that such a fee would be another barrier to getting more people cycling.
