FIS is a Dutch organisation (foundation).  
Short Summary
FIS is a Dutch organisation (foundation) with development of cycle routes from the Netherlands into Europe as main goal. A second goal is to inform cyclists who travel from the Netherlands into Europe as good as possible about cycling routes abroad, ways to travel with a bicycle (by train, by plane) in European countries, and other points of interests for people cycling through Europe. FIS does not have members, only contributors (approximately 800). FIS is the publisher of 15 international cycleroutes through Europe.

The routes are published by Pirola publishers, Schoorl, the Netherlands and can be purchased by internet (www.fietskaartinformatiestichting.nl 

FIS cycle routes are, a.o. the Pelerinage routes from Haarlem (the Netherlands)  to Santiago de Compostella (via Tours) and from Maastricht (The Netherlands) to Santiago de Compostella (via Vézelay); The Limes route along the old Roman North border from Norht Sea to Black Sea; the Méditerannée Route (from Maastricht to Arles/Narbonne); The Viking route (from the Netherlands to Northern Jutland (Denmark), St Columba route (from Holland to the Western Hebrides), Amsterdam – Paris (along reminiscences of Vincent v Gogh),Castle  route along the Loire,  Katharen route through the Pyrenees.
