Short Summary

FUB is an « urban » cyclists federation, it helps its local groups to promote everyday cycling, and to improve infrastructure, services and safety for cyclists. FUB represents « everyday cyclists » at national level and helps to coordinate national events.

Activities of our local groups vary a lot from member to member. They may include lobbying at local or regional level, education in cycling and /or bike repair, developping school or enterprises travel plans, bike rental, participating in cycle infrastructure monitoring, organising events during European Mobility Week in september and Environment week in june, and participating to FUB working groups in collaboration with the Management Comitee.
Example activities

Our actions are reported in our magazine Velocite, published 5 times per year.

• participate to events like « European Mobility Week » and to « Fête du vélo »

• cyclists safety : studies and proposals for improving cycle infrastructure and traffic rules

• bike theft prevention : creation and operation of a bike coding system to prevent bike theft  http://bicycode.org. Publication of bike locks break tests, with the aim of setting a standard

• provide documents for the communication of local groups and the monitoring of cycle policy. Offer free internet services for local associations (mail, lists, subdomains and web pages)

• and of course lobbying at national level, in collaboration with other federations active in transports, environement and/or tourism domains.
